Knitting and reading

I’m knitting a surprise gift right now, so not much to say on that at this point. The going is slow anyway, because of all the spinning I’m working on.

But I’m reading some really awesome books.  The first one is Women’s Work: The First 20000 Years: Women, Cloth, and Society and it is all about exactly what the title says…women and fiber from as far back as we know fiber crafts existed! It’s super fascinating (if you love history and fiber) and I’d love to sit and devour it in a night, but I’m enjoying the snippets I get here and there immensely.

The other book is Knitting with Icelandic Wool and it is full of so many gorgeous patterns!  Now the trouble is narrowing down what to knit first…
