In the Berkshires

We’ve been enjoying our annual camping trip in beautiful Western Massachusetts.  It’s funny…I realized we have been coming here for so long now (since Sophia was a baby) that we have all these memories and life events that can be measured and remembered by camp sites and local area day outings.  We do, as a family, love this area.  Everytime we arrive, it feels like a homecoming.

(Now I just need to find some incredible local yarn shops!)

We have a few more days before we head back to Connecticut.  Grace and Sophia spent a lot of time fishing yesterday.  They caught sunfish and even a baby bass.  Sophia caught a turtle!  They love reeling in their catches all by themselves.

Grace finally learned to ride her bike yesterday.  The campground provided the perfect place and time for her to devote herself to it.  Today she spent the morning “racing” Sophia on her bike!

We miss the dogs and of course I miss my sheep, but I do wish this time here could last a bit longer.   When it comes to this place, I always do.

Love the Berkshires! We were there last week and a brochure mentioned Colorful Stitches in Lenox, and there’s supposed to be one in Great Barrington (Wonderful…). And they sell yarn at the Hancock Shaker Village. I didn’t get to any since we were too busy exploring, but maybe when we go back in the fall. Let us know if you find something!
