Brigid’s Day & Crafts

Elaesser postcard.

February 2 is varyingly called Candlemas, Imbolc, Brigid’s Day, and of course, Groundhog Day. It’s deepest roots go back to the Celtic story of Brigid, goddess of light and fertility. This time of year is marked by candles and bonfires which mark and celebrate the return of the sun and warmth and growth.

So….we decorated candles with beeswax in honor of the light which is growing daily, hailing Spring!

We are going to give the Grandparent’s these specially decorated candles, and also these picture frames from the craft store that the girls painted their favorite colors.

Happy Imbolc/Brigid’s Day!!
