5 Years & A Lantern Walk

I now have a 5 year old!

Sophia turned that big number on the 11th, which is also Martinmas, so we celebrated with family and took everyone on a lantern walk in honor of Martin and the begger (and in honor of Sophia too, because what a special thing to do on your big day!).

In the weeks preceding, we made paper mache lanterns. We used a balloon and covered it in a glue/water mixture, added 3 to 4 layers of tissue paper, and viola! I think these lanterns are just too lovely; my husband really got into this project and definitely made the nicest ones by far.

We had a really lovely night for the lantern walk. Next year I’ll have more ideas planned out, but this year we all strolled around the yard and sang songs like ‘Twinkle twinkle little star’ and ‘This little light of mine.’ Sophia had fun, and everyone else did too!

Happy Birthday, Sophia! ❤
